Giraffes, Gratitude & Grandchildren, Oh My!
I have been to the Philadelphia Zoo countless times over many years and never considered feeding the giraffes.
Enter my 11-month-old granddaughter.
Next thing I know, I am face-to-face with two beautiful, extremely tall animals. I am wrestling to hold on to the branches from which they are eating while my granddaughter is locked in and squealing quietly with delight!
Which brings me to gratitude.
I am thankful that this small human being is motivating me to open my eyes and try something different, i.e., seeing the world of the Zoo anew.

Research shows that being near, in, on, or under the water can improve our mood and our health, and increase our creativity and connectedness. “People can experience the benefits of the water whether they’re near the ocean, a lake, a river, a swimming pool or even listening to the soothing sound of a fountain,” says Wallace J.
