Pivots, Permission, and Leaves, Oh My!

Are you considering a change?
As the leaves are changing colors, I find Fall is an ideal time to check in with ourselves about whether our career is on track and we need a change. Is your current work situation in alignment with your strengths, needs and values? Or are you finding yourself out of sync and dissatisfied?
As a former practicing BigLaw attorney, I found myself in this position – enjoying the intellectual challenge of law, yet knowing something was missing. It was time for a PIVOT. I considered in-house, small firm, public interest, and outside-of-the-law positions.
During the process, though, I remained stuck! I came to understand that I had to give myself PERMISSION to leave a stable, lucrative position for something different and uncertain; that it was not a waste of time or investment to PIVOT because I could use my skills, experience and network in my next position. And that my next position could be well-paying, too.
For those of you who don’t know me well, I took the leap, made the change and have never looked back. If you are considering a change, I am here to help you with:
- A resume redo.
- A networking and job search strategy.
- Interview preparation.
- Practice negotiating a compensation package.
- Guidance in figuring out what you want to do next.
- Support in giving yourself permission to pivot.
If you’re considering a change and would like to discuss your options, please don’t hesitate to contact me. #professionaldevelopment
